MTC Motorsport MK8 Golf R GTI 2.0 TSI Front Mount Intercooler with Tube & Fin Core This intercooler replaces the stock intercooler and eliminates the two clip connectors that can cause boost leaks. This intercooler is one of the bigger intercoolers available for these models with the 70mm inlet and outlet compared to the standard 60mm. The core measures 620mm x 440mm x 65mm. For comparison this intercooler is 132% bigger than the standard intercooler. This will fit the following cars with a VAG 2.0 TSI engine (EA888): Volkswagen Golf VIII 2.0 GTI 245ps (from 08/2020) Volkswagen Golf VIII 2.0 GTI Clubsport 300ps (10/2020) Volkswagen Golf VIII 2.0 R 320ps (12/2020) Cupra Formentor VZ 2.0TSI 245ps Cupra Formentor VZ 2.0TSI 310ps Skoda Octavtia 2.0TSI RS 245ps We have engineered these intercoolers using a tube and fin core matched to our flowed cast end tanks with directional air flow fins on the inlet side, the same as we use on our other intercoolers. This is the most efficient way to keep the intake temperatures low. They have been TIG welded and there is no trimming required to fit on most vehicles. We have tested our intercoolers on a few vehicles and found they have absolutely fantastic results. The IAT compared to the standard intercooler are reduced massively which means you get consistent increased performance. The standard intercooler and the MTC intercooler both had intercooler intake temperatures of between 110-115 degrees every time over 5 runs on the road. At the other side of the intercooler into the engine the standard intercooler temperatures were between 75-85 degrees whereas the MTC intercooler temperatures were at 30 degrees every time. Our intercoolers are proven to handle over 500bhp. These results are fantastic as these engines suffer from heat soak after a few pulls on the road. This massively helps and in most cases solves that problem. Professional installation is recommended as some parts can be a little tricky. Fitting will take approximately 3-4 hours by a professional mechanic.
