At first glance, the CSF #7211 radiator bears a resemblance to the company’s E36 M3 Radiator (#3054), sharing a similar overall shape. However, the #7211 incorporates several critical enhancements that distinguish it as the optimal choice for S54 swap installations. Given that the S54 engine necessitates a more robust oil cooling system than the original E36 S52/S50 engines, CSF has engineered the radiator to accommodate two different race-spec oil coolers. This design flexibility also allows the radiator and oil cooler combination to be compatible with S50 and S52 swaps. To facilitate this, the radiator’s height has been slightly reduced, enabling the installation of CSF race-spec oil coolers in a factory-style location. The package includes a custom-designed oil cooler mounting bracket compatible with both the CSF #8032 and #8240 oil coolers. Additionally, a bespoke radiator cover plate optimizes the coolant overflow line placement, concealing it for an OEM+ aesthetic that maintains the vehicle’s factory appearance. CSF also provides brackets designed for an electric fan conversion, engineered to fit a single 16-inch SPAL fan (fan not included). While retaining the original clutch-type fan is possible, converting to an electric fan simplifies installation and offers additional performance advantages, including improved cooling efficiency and reduced parasitic power loss.
