MTC Motorsport Mini Cooper S R56 R57 1.6T Front Mount Intercooler with Bar and Plate Core 2007-2012 & Stainless Steel Decat Downpipe
The MTC intercooler features a massive 80mm bottom core and 40mm at the top for maximum surface area with flowed cast end tanks. It has a 53mm OD inlet and outlet.
This intercooler will massively improve throttle response in comparison to the standard intercooler
These cores are tested individually to 3 bar and are proven to flow 400bhp without any problems

We have engineered these intercoolers using the same bar and plate core that we use on all of our other intercoolers as this is the most efficient way of keeping intake temperatures to a minimum and recently completely re designed the intercooler with cast end tanks and much stronger brackets for perfect mounting on the vehicle.
We have tested our newly designed intercooler on a few vehicles and found they have absolutely fantastic results. The IAT compared to the standard intercooler are reduced massively which means you get consistent increased performance.
The standard intercooler and the MTC intercooler both had intercooler intake temperatures of between 125-140 degrees through 3 runs on the road.
At the other side of the intercooler into the engine the standard intercooler temperatures were around 55 degrees whereas the MTC intercooler temperatures were between 15-18 degrees over all 3, 4th gear pulls on the road with 8 degree outside temperature.
This kit also includes the decat downpipe for the R56 which is also great for power as it removes the catalytic converter and makes it sound much better.
The downpipe and flange are machined from T-304 high-grade stainless steel and are tig welded in house
It provides a sharper throttle response due to faster spool of the turbo

This downpipe will provide noticeable power gains and a much more aggressive exhaust note which sounds truly amazing.
It produces lower temperatures and less exhaust backpressure due to the relief of the turbocharger. The cylinder charge is increased which contributes to maximum performance
There is also a substantial weight saving in comparison to the factory catalytic converter.
Mandrel-bent for better gas flow and maximum internal size to ensure ultimate performance without the loss of mid-range torque.
We have tested this product and found increases of around 10-15bhp.
We also recommend purchasing a Lambda Sensor Spacer(s) to prevent the engine light coming on in most cases. If you search our other items you will find these.

Both products are very easy to fit as they are direct replacements.
There are also some great videos on YouTube to follow. Fitting should take around 1-2 hours. There is no drilling required although it may require some trimming of the lower grill on some models to fit the intercooler.
